TORONTO – “Schitt’s Creek†father-son co-creators Eugene and Dan Levy get their own shows on various streaming services.

Apple TV Plus says Elder Levy will host and produce “The Reluctant Traveler.”

The globetrotter series will see the Hamilton-born comedy star explore remarkable hotels and the people, places and cultures that surround them.

No release date has been announced for the new series, which will be produced by British television and media group Twofour.

Meanwhile, HBO Max commissioned the unscripted cooking competition series “The Big Brunch” from Toronto student Dan Levy and California-based Boardwalk Pictures.

Levy created the show, which gives America’s “unknown culinary voices†the chance to share their business stories and dreams.

It is scheduled to premiere next year.

Dan Levy said he had “an almost obsessive love of food” and created the show for “America’s local culinary heroes who deserve a spotlight.”

“That, and who doesn’t want to watch the maple syrup slowly pour over a golden pile of perfectly baked crème brûlée-inspired French toast?” Levy added in a press release Monday.

Dan Levy is targeting another streamer: Netflix, which aired the CBC sitcom “Schitt’s Creek” around the world.

In September, the streamer announced a deal in which it will develop scripted content and other projects for its film and television libraries.

This report by The Canadian Press was first published on November 1, 2021.
