The Fresno State Bulldogs are on the road again on Saturday and will face the Boise State Broncos at 9:45 p.m. ET on October 8 at Albertsons Stadium. After losing in a game they were meant to win, the Bulldogs now face the tougher task of proving themselves against unfavorable odds.

Fresno State didn’t finish too far behind, but the team still lost 19-14 to the Connecticut Huskies last week. What made the loss a particularly bitter pill for Fresno State to swallow was that they were favored by 23.5 points heading into the contest. QB Logan Fife had a game to remember, but not in the way you would like to be remembered: in addition to not producing a single touchdown, he threw two interceptions and fumbled the ball once with only 157 passing yards.

Boise State was the clear winner by a 35-13 margin over San Diego State. The win came on the back of a strong push after halftime to overcome a 13-to-no deficit. RB George Holani was the offensive star of the game for the Broncos, rushing for two touchdowns and 131 yards on 17 carries.

The Bulldogs are now 1-3 while Boise State is 3-2. A pair of defensive stats to watch: Fresno State enters the game with just five passing touchdowns allowed, good for 20th-best in the nation. As for Boise State, they rank second in the nation in passing yards allowed per game, averaging just 134.4.
