Watch: Alec Baldwin addresses the set in pre-Christmas video posted online
December 24 (UPI) – Alec Baldwin posted a pre-Christmas video online thanking supporters for their wishes in the wake of the fatal shooting on the set of the film Rust.
Baldwin, 63, posted a video on his Instagram account Thursday night with the caption “Merry Christmas.”
“I wanted to take a moment to say thank you to everyone who sent me such kind words, best wishes, strength, hope, prayers, thoughts and lots of encouragement,” said Baldwin. “I have received hundreds, hundreds of emails from friends, family, coworkers and people I haven’t heard from in a while to send me strength and good wishes , etc. I’m really grateful to them. “
The Santa Fe County Sheriff’s Office in California and other agencies are investigating ongoing investigations after Baldwin detained an antique gun on the Santa Fe set. Rust discharged a bullet live, killing cinematographer Halyna Hutchins and injuring director Joel Souza.
“I can’t wait for some aspects of this to be behind me,” Baldwin said in the video post. “Of course, for everyone involved in this, it will never be behind us because someone has passed away so tragically. I never lose sight of this – not a day happens, I think about it. not.”
Baldwin said he looks forward to spending the holidays with his wife and children.
“Whatever holidays you celebrate, happy holidays everyone,” he said. “I hope you’re as lucky as I am in a department, that you’re home with your family. I’m home with my family.”
“I have nothing clever or original to say, just thank you to the people who sent me these big wishes. Be careful, wear a mask, get the booster. Don’t let Santa go down the chimney. without a mask, “he said as he concluded the video.
The Santa Fe County Sheriff’s Office last week requested a search warrant to examine Baldwin’s cell phone for information related to the investigation.
