Who plays

Stanford @ Arizona State # 22

Current records: Stanford 3-2; Arizona State 4-1

What there is to know

After two home games, the Stanford Cardinal will be on the road. Stanford and the Arizona State Sun Devils will face off in a Pac-12 battle at 10:30 p.m. ET Friday at Sun Devil Stadium, Frank Kush Field. Both teams enter the contest strengthened by victories in their previous matches.

It may have taken two more hours to finish the job, but the Cardinal finally got the result they hoped for last week with a 31-24 victory over the Oregon Ducks. The team accumulated 17 points in the first half and managed to secure the victory. Stanford QB Tanner McKee threw him as he passed for three touchdowns and 230 yards on 36 attempts.

Meanwhile, ASU passed the UCLA Bruins with points to lose last week, winning the game 42-23. ASU QB Jayden Daniels worked scoring two touchdowns and 286 yards on 18 attempts in addition to picking up 45 rushing yards. Daniels’ 65-yard touchdown against WR Ricky Pearsall in the second quarter was one of the most memorable moments of the night.

The Cardinals are clearly the underdogs, so they’re hoping it’s the size of the fight that determines this one. Those who were lucky with them ATS last week may want to suspend their bets this time around as the team have yet to streak back-to-back ATS wins.

Stanford is now 3-2 while ASU is 4-1. A pair of defensive stats to keep in mind as you watch: Stanford stumbles into the game with the 234th most rushed touchdowns allowed in the nation, after dropping 12 on the season. The Sun Devils have had an even tougher time: They are 145th worst in the country in rushing touchdowns allowed, with six over the season. It’s possible that one of those Achilles heels will end up tripping the losing team.
